About his collection:
The Catou Fall/Winter 2022 collection is inspired by sweet island romance developed while listening to the ocean waves and sounds of local ska music…
It’s 1963 and the island of Jamaica has just earned its independence. Basking in its newfound independence, two individuals meet while on vacation and fall in love. Despite its intimate nature, the relationship quickly blossoms and grows into its own epic subculture. Its own sense of fashion. Much like the island’s fresh state of freedom, the passion between the two gives new meaning and a life’s purpose that neither one can ignore. This collection fully captures the feelings and expression of this relationship with colors inspired by the Caribbean and the winter warmth of sweet-smelling candles that are aflame with new romance.
