Q&A with Morgan Olenski
What are you passionate about?
Ever since I was young, I always had this love of humankind. As I got older, and started to experience more of the world and more of the suffering the people around the world endure, that love transpired into a deeper passion for philanthropy. The more suffering and misfortune I witnessed, the deeper my passion for helping others got. Seeing what others need, and what I have, made me realize that the best way to express gratitude for everything I have been fortunate enough to receive in my life is to give back.
What type of work do you do?
I work in finance, at an investment management firm.
In one word, how would you describe leadership?
What is your favorite part of living and working in the Midwest?
My favorite part about living and working in the Midwest is that, even though I’ve lived here my entire life, I can still feel like a tourist. There’s always new places to explore and different cultures to experience. Especially in Chicago, which is home to many different ethnic neighborhoods, you have the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and immerse yourself in something completely new. And when you do, you’re always welcomed with open arms. There is a huge sense of community here and everyone is working to better their communities while still maintaining the rich history that comes with the land.
