As a very young child in Iowa, I aspired to be a veterinarian in order to save animals and cultivate the special relationship between animals and humans. Along the way, I was inspired by fashion and occasionally would design clothing as a creative outlet from life’s every day struggles. After I graduated from veterinary school, I moved to Chicago to pursue my career as a veterinarian.
The focus of the Humane Envy is not only fashion but hope. Hope that animals who have been abandoned and abused will find a loving home and a happy second life. Hope that cancer patients who are fighting cancer or have overcame cancer will have companionship and support in their time of need. Hope that all women love their body for every attribute and flaw. Hope that women and men strive to follow their dreams regardless of the obstacles that they might encounter along the way.
