Marilyn Francis Walker

Dr. Marilyn Francis Walker, Doctor of Humanity, Master of Project Management and Bachelor of Arts of Business Management and Speech Communication landed in New York City in 1976 by way of Trinidad and Tobago. After dedicating 35 precious years to two major United States Financial institutions, it all came to an abrupt end after she revisited her homeland in 2013 in search of finding her true purpose in life.

Realizing the lack for free creative expression in her current position as Financial Analyst that had kept her imprisoned for too long, Marilyn retired in 2013 and she escaped to a world where she has the freedom to unleash her fashion soul to the world, living life with no rules, no boundaries and being free to express herself creatively by blending three of her passions: fashion, travel and service.

Within three years of freedom, Marilyn earned her doctorate in humanity; received her 501(C) 3 status which allowed her to be the Founder and CEO of the International Transformation Institute for Humanity, a nonprofit organization. Through her C.H.A.N.G.E program, Dr. Walker is actively working towards empowering youths who have aged out of the foster care system, giving them an opportunity for entrepreneurship through hands-on creative learning. Just one year later, in June 2015, she opened to the public MFD Fashion Boutique, in Ft. Washington, MD.

Marilyn is currently the Executive Producer of Soca On the Seas FashionFusion hosted by Soca On the Seas in conjunction with HJ Travels and the Festival at Sea Fashion Week at Sea hosted by Blue World Travel. These events are performed on two major cruise lines which provides a platform for her designs to be exhibited for the world to see and experience. Marilyn is an active participant in various community outreach endeavors to include breast cancer and Help the Homeless initiatives. She was a member and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and University of Maryland mentoring program. In addition to being a self-taught seamstress and fashion designer, sartorialist Marilyn enjoys being a fashion role model, and is an avid reader and music lover with a deeper passion for sewing, traveling and cooking.
