Melissa Lockwood is a Brooklyn based fashion designer. Her label IQTEST is based on the environmentally positive use of fabrics. Melissa’s garments are made from salvaged remnant fabrics. She uses fabric’s mass-producing designers throw away. IQTEST is proving off cut fabric is a valuable resource rather than landfill. Melissa’s garments are meant to inspire other designers to use the fabric they throw usually away. By analyzing the remnant selection she has shown unseen garments are reaching the landfills.
